Tullamore Irish Festival 2010

Easter Weekend, 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th April 2010

The home of true Irish fun, The Tullamore Irish Festival has a respectful appreciation of the Irish culture, featuring high class artists, as well as celebrating the local Tullamore region's Irish heritage. 

Festival Starts Thursday 1st April

 Official opening of the Visual Arts Exhibition 7pm.

The Art Exhibition opens with an Official Opening at the Tullamore Memorial Hall commencing 7 pm, with Cocktail Party. Bar facilities open to 10 pm.  

Entry: Single $12, Double $20, entry includes 2 drink tokens and nibbles. Many artists from the Central and Western NSW will have their works and craft on display & sale.

The Exhibition will be open Friday 2nd April 10am to 3pm, Saturday 11am to 4pm, and Sunday 10am  to 1pm. Daily entry $5.00 or Festival Pass(Armband)

Friday 2nd April

 
Irish Films  CWA rooms 11am & 4pm Entry $5.00 or Festival Pass(Armband)
Stations of the Cross   3 pm Tullamore Memorial Park
Self guided Tours of Tullamore and District
Celtic Campfire Concert  6.30 pm to 9 pm.  Starting at sunset, this event is a must with the setting sun and a campfire, the artists use mostly acoustic instruments.
There will be appearances by Maria Forde, Jimmy Moore and entertainment from local and visiting poets.
Fish & Chips available as well as Bar facilities & Coffee outlet.

Saturday 3rd April   Main Day

Starting at 10am with Street Entertainment, with MC Gerry Faulkner, featuring dancers, buskers. Followed by a Street Parade at 10.45 am. The street parade commences at the Town Park goes through the town finishing at the Festival Village.

At the Festival Village there are two stages with entertainment all day featuring Dwyer-Whelan Irish Dancers International Artists, including Maria Forde, Jimmy Moore & Claddagh, Eileen McCann, Steve PassfieldClare O'Meara

Entertainment for all the family with all children's entertainment free upon entry. There are jumping castles, Jingles the clown, games and competitions, hurdle races and for those a bit older the Tullamore Irish Hurdles, the four way Irish Tug-O-War or you can ride the Irish Bike we have two for you to try. There is also a Tent Pegging display by the Trundle Light Horse Troop.

On display Family Histories with their Irish heritage, Wearing of the Green competition, Green Art competition for the younger generation.

Irish Food available, Food Stalls, Bar & Coffee facilities, produce and craft stalls all undercover in the new multipurpose shed.

Festival Pass (armband): Adult $20.00,   < 18YO  $5.00 proof of age must be produced if requested. 

Pass valid Friday to Sunday, gets you into everything.  Alternately, pay for individual events where indicated.

Ecumenical Service:  10am at the Festival Village

Monster Charity Auction:  11am at the Festival Village

Irish Hooley   from lunchtime on at the Tullamore Bowling Club
